Many of them in the queue were working adults, students and even old folks, waiting patiently to get limited edition of Hello Kitty plush toys. Many of them had the mission of bringing smiles on the kids' face with the toys. While true Hello kitty fans queued to buy so that they can add more design into their collection.
Then, there came a group of resellers who spoiled the whole happy promotion atmosphere. They disgraced themselves by literally robbing away the happiness and money from real Hello Kitty fans and children. Yet they still had the face to lie to McDonald’s staff by giving excuses: buying on behalf of friends, relatives and colleague. Now we all can clearly see that their reasons are untrue; we should not believe them.
The first question went through my mind was why bother buying it if you have no intention of keeping it for yourself?
Resellers please spare considerations for real collectors and those real children who want the toys badly. As the plush toys are mend for children as a simple reward from parents and for collectors to really treasure it. If the toy is overpriced, who will be able to afford it?
Hence, I agree that we should not support people buying the Hello Kitties for resale.
Maybe at the first place, McDonald could curb the number of resellers, by limiting 1 Hello Kitty per meal per customer. Perhaps, McDonald can also sell the number of toy according to the number of children the parents have brought along. Ignore all the untrue reasons given ‘buying on behalf for others’. Whoever is keen to own one of the toy, will have to get it by themselves.
For now what we can do, is not to buy from the resellers with atrocious prices. Then they will be the foolish ones who had spent so much time, energy, and money.
Till now, I am wondering how these resellers have the face to face the society …..
