Today is the last day of work, where I spent my 1.5 months working at CPF. I actually feel quite sad leaving this place which can be called my third home.During this period, I had met all sorts of challenges and difficulties everyday. I got to know how hard it is to be in customer service line, we must uphold our polite service behavior regardless of any situation and answering back customer queries. Thanks to my dear colleagues who were to there to standing along side with me and helping me with all the difficulties I face. I love you guys. Memories will never be forgotten. I will be back working at CPF soon.Kudos to every colleague! #cpfjsvc2014

I've been following the missing MH 370 news all day and it's such a tragedy. I feel so sorry for the families and friends of the passengers not knowing what's going on. It's absolutely heart breaking. My thoughts and prayers are with are with the passengers, crew and their families. Don't give up MH370. God is by your side!!! Be strong Malaysia! Hello everyone! I know that I haven't been updating this space for a month. This is mainly because of my hectic work schedule. I am dead tired by the end of the day/week, all I want is to lie on my comfy bed. Nevertheless, I had already brainstorm ideas on how to make my comeback in April 2014! Do keep a look out for it!
Recently, I watched a video showing a student scolding teacher and demanding teacher to apologise. Then after, I was totally shock and disappointed with his actions. I still remembered how one shout from my teacher led me to burst into tears- that was how afraid we were back then. He is so young, and he's challenging authority and even refused to accept any apology; totally a rude and defiant kid! Attempt to engage with a behaviour like this should not be attempted at all. The boy might not be deaf, but he didn't need to yell it out at the teacher. Not to mention, bringing up outrageous remarks "it’s not like I asking money for sex" when he doesn't even fully understand the consequences of saying such things. Hence that behaviour requires disciplinary action. I feel that the teacher has the right to shout at him. He already instructed the boy to go back to his seat and he did not seem to understand. Teachers shouldn't have apologized in this case. That is a big mistake. This makes the student think that he's not in wrong. You can see that he is taking one step further once this teacher softens his voice. The teacher could have stood firm on his grounds but instead was submissive when this little one raised his voice. Or else, it will be hard to command the respect of his students if this continues... I guess the following are the reasons that led to this scenario:
In my opinion, all three parties (the boy, his parents and authority) will need to review this case. Most importantly, the boy has to seriously reflect on his action; parents need to change their way of character teaching; and authority should reassess school’s punishment and character building. If this happens again, the student must not be given a chance to remain in this school. The setting up of the school is to help them significantly. He has failed to realise this. Back on a few days ago, I had that feeling I was going to score around 15 or worse, as I might had screwed up in some part of the paper. I know the results are already determined. It cannot be changed no matter how much I'm going to pray. But it's the fear of the unknown that's causing this anxiety I'm constantly feeling. My heart was beating so fast, my hands were getting cold sweat…
Came 13 January, I collected my results. I got around that range of marks: 16.I don’t consider my results good. I could have gotten a much better score if I did put in more effort and studied harder and earlier (as in from the start of the year), if it wasn't for procrastination and laziness. I feel like I'm capable of so much more but I can't do anything anymore. Then, it was time to look through all the available courses, I'm starting to realise how important is it between the numbers of the same grade. i.e. the difference between a b3 and b4 makes a significant impact. It could be because of that 1 point and you cannot enter the course of your choice. It was a tiring 2 day process (literally) of flipping through pages and pages of course book trying to find the suitable ones for myself. Actually, it is quite saddening that I cannot enter some of my dream courses through the Joint Admission Exercise (JAE). I had to apply for those courses through another process known as Joint Poly Special Admission Exercise (JPSAE), by using my portfolio. I feel that entering the course that I am interested in is the most important, so that I am able to excel well in my studies. Well, I finally got the submission done and I am crossing my fingers, hoping and praying that I'll get accepted into the course I want in Singapore Polytechnic. Once again, 'O' level results do not determine your success in life. Attitude does. Whatever your results might be, look forward to a new chapter in life. Wow! As I am blogging, it is already the second last two day of 2013! I really want 2013 to come to an end.
2013 have been a boring year for every 16 year old student in Singapore because of the national exam! I am not exceptional, because 2013 is the year that I need to take my O levels. That exam was a hell decider for my future; deciding for me what course I can take in polytechnic. Hence, I might just say my closest friend in 2013 is my notes. Just 10 months back, I was stressing about my papers, staying up late to make sure that I complete my practice papers on time. However, there were still so many ups and downs in my academic life, passing and failing subjects even during the prelims. In social life, all of us met new people, get into fights, had the craziest moments and there are so many more things on the list! But most importantly, we should not backstab anyone. We all must learnt to work with one another. Most importantly, I am very grateful to have great friends and family by my side. They stick with me through the 2013 journey, constantly supporting & encouraging me to do the things that I want. They are my listening ears. We all have grown so much and became mature from what we've been through during the year 2013. Well, no matter what happened, 2013 is coming to an end and we'll say hello to 2014! It is time to forget those bad times, and look forward to the good times ahead. There are far better things ahead than we leave behind. For the first few months of 2014, I guess I am still able to live a stress-free life. School is not reopening for me until April. No more Monday Blues feelings, and able to get more sleep instead of preparing/rushing to school. Can I say in advance that 2014 would be an awesome year? Referring to the news “'Samurai' man jumped gate, boarded train at Paya Lebar MRT’’. From this incident, I notice that there are still lapses in Singapore’s transport network security. I am in doubt how did that man was able to pass through the security post at the gates with his swords, and given the freedom to carry on his journey on the train with other commuters around? He should have been stopped, disarmed and led away from the station. If that guy were to go on a rampage & start slashing everyone around him, the consequence will be unimaginable. In a crowded MRT train there would be a massacre; many innocent civilians will be affected. I feel that the current security guards on duty at stations are not really effective. They are unarmed; unable to react to situations when weapons are involved. They are highly dependent on the officers from Transcom officers. With the time gap in between, the station could have been attacked. Hence, the current transport network security has to be improved. A suggestion would be having an auxiliary police on duty instead of the normal security guards at every MRT station. This is because auxiliary police officers are well equipped with weapons to protect the public and well trained to manage situations. This serves as a first-line of response and gives you the assurance that the situation is receiving prompt attention while the Authorities are being alerted. In conclusion, I hope that Singapore’s transport network is better protected from danger and threats, setting the standard for security excellence. 11/12/13 seems to be a nice date. I am so bored. What should I do? Play games? Watch online movies? Nah...I think I should join some contest, Who knows, 11/12/13 might be a lucky day for me. Then, I decided to go online to search for contests to join... I clicked on the link it led me to Prizle Contest Facebook Page. Their facebook cover summarizes everything: it is all about contest and giveaways. Clicked on the about tab to find out more about them, which led me to their website (http://www.prizle.com). So what is Prizle.com all about? Prizle.com is Singapore's first contest distribution and creation portal. It is a one-stop contest and giveaway website where public users can join available contests and possibly win prizes. The website is also organised, where you can easily search for contest based on the different categories (as seen in the picture below). On the other hand, businesses can also quickly set up, launch, distribute and administer their contests on the portal - hassle-free and easy for business owners! Put down your worries. Prizle.com is a reliable website, they keep all of their contests participants well informed. Participants will be given the latest updates the contest that they have participated in and winners will be given their prizes. Since I am only 16, I think I should explore Prizle.com from the user point of view. Follow me in this journey as I explore the website. So here is how it goes: Step 1: Go to their register domain by clicking the 'Register' button on the top right hand corner. You will then be given a choice to choose on how you want to register. I am really lazy to fill up the registration form, so I chose to register using my Facebook account. It is very convenient, I need not fill up anything. After giving my approval, automatically I became a member of Prizle.com. Do note that for future login, it would also be on the top right hand corner of the website. Step 2: Login and update your profile. Updating your profile gives you points too. The setting up for an account is officially done! It is time for me to accomplish my mission- to take part as many contest as possible. I feel that it brings me joy when I am taking part contests. I am weird maybe? Anyway, Prizle.com will award users 250 points for the first contest join and 50 points for each subsequent contest. Well, I can say that every visit is a reward-earning experience, the more I engage with Prizle, the more Prizle points I get. These points can be accumulated to redeem wonderful prizes( such as Prizle.com T-Shirt, CapitaLand Shopping Voucher, Epicenter Voucher, Kinokuniya voucher etc). Prizle.com has even brought convenience to another level. Now, you can search and take part contest from their mobile app, where you can take part any contest on the go (maybe while on public transport to using your travelling time meaningfully?). The app is available on both app store and Android store. I love it, and I have downloaded it on my ipad. In conclusion, I give a thumbs up to Prizle.com, this website is worth my time to spend on. I recommend all my readers to explore Prizle.com, and who knows your house might soon be flooded with prizes.
