The Singapore men’s water polo team played against the Malaysian team at the TYR 2nd Southeast Asian Swimming Championships 2014 with Singapore winning 11-5 eventually.
In the first quarter of the game, we saw Singapore coming in strong, scoring 4 goals to nil. Malaysia then had the opportunity to score during the last 1:18 min, but their player did not manage to score, hitting the goal post instead.
During the second quarter, we saw our national player trying a nice and quick backhand throw in an attempt to score, catching the defender off guard but he failed to score due to good defending from the Malaysian goal keeper. Malaysia had more opportunities to score this time round and managed to convert it into two goals. At the end of the second quarter, the score stood at Singapore 6, Malaysia 2.
In the third quarter, Singapore had many chances to score. One moment was when the Malaysian keeper made a mistake, throwing the ball too far into an empty space near the Singapore player. Singapore player Sean Ang then took this opportunity and scored a goal during the last 1:51 min. Team Singapore managed to score 4 more goals at the end of the third quarter.
Lastly, during the fourth quarter, we saw Malaysia scoring their last two goals. Singapore wasted a lot of opportunities though with the final score standing at Singapore 11, Malaysia 5.
