According to some online working citizens, those who are short, thin, timid, poor and doesn't look fierce enough or smart enough are usually those who will be bullied. That might be true, since we all witnessed it from the video, as shown that the poor young guy who got bullied looked quite small built.
I am extremely curious to know why the supervisor hit the guy? What big mistake in work did the guy did? Even after the guy in blue tried to calm him down after the supervisor hit the young guy once, the supervisor just kept on hitting the poor guy. That was as if the supervisor hit the guy to release his anger and stress.
Not only that, according to AsiaOne news website, it was stated that both the supervisor and the company itself has been abusing the poor guy, by putting him on "intern" salary for the last 3 years even after he has graduated!
I feel for the poor guy. I am very sorry that he was subjected to such inhuman action. Shame on the supervisor and the company. Workers are not meant to be insulted! This behaviour is intolerable. He deserves a better working environment.
I reckon the victim is very timid, perhaps he is fearful of losing his job. But, how can a timid/shy people get nurtured from getting physically abused? It's more reason that he shouldn't use physical abuse at work place.
I respect the intern who reported this. This is because the majority would just be bystanders because they're afraid of consequences (e.g. risk losing their job, becoming the target instead etc.). I hope more people would stand up towards bullied and assaulted victims. He did the most right thing that many people are afraid to do. Kudos to such righteous people who brought the issue to light! We need more such brave and caring people in Singapore!
Anyone who commits such brutality violations should be dealt seriously by the law. To all the abuser out there, you are not worth to be born in this society!
